How do I attribute works from the public domain?

Answer

It is essential to attribute works and materials that are in the public domain, so NMTAFE does not incur any unnecessary Copyright Fees. To attribute, use the same method for Creative Commons material (Title, Author/Creator, Source and Licence), except with Public Domain at the end instead of a CC licence. For example;

"Topics of the Day" by The Daily News (Perth : WA 1882-1955), on Trove is licenced under Public Domain.

For more information about attributing Public Domain Materials, visit the Smartcopying page for Labelling and Attributing and the library's page for Finding & Using CC & OER Material, which are linked below.
