Outlook Error "500: repeating redirects detected"

Answer

If you are getting an error about logging into Outlook that says "500: repeating redirects detected" (or something similar) or you can log into everything except your Student Portal, the following instructions will fix the issue.

You will need to log out of all devices and wait for 30 minutes, then follow the instructions below:

  • Go to myaccount.microsoft.com  
  • Sign in as per normal.  
  • Select Security Info on the left.  
  • At the bottom, click 'Sign out everywhere' and Ok to confirm.  
  • You will be asked to sign out. Do so now.  
  • Don't log into Student Portal or Microsoft 365 on any device for a half an hour. This includes Blackboard or any other site that shares the same.  Logging onto a campus computer or connecting to the Wi-Fi is fine.
