How can a Lecturer print Standards with a commercial printer?

Answer

Go to the Standards Australia Help page on the NMT Library Website to register or sign in to the Australian Standards database (instructions are available here for new users)

https://guides.dtwd.wa.gov.au/nmtafe-library/AustralianStandards

The Digital Rights Management (DRM) cannot be removed, however, if you follow the procedure properly they will not be applied until the document is opened at the Printer.

All Standards that are commercially printed will have the copyright details of the staff member who downloaded the document on each page of each standard printed.

Do not try to upload a standard to either print company's online portal, even if there is the option avialbable, the DRM makes it impossible - Always follow the steps below.

Find the standard that you require and download it to your computer

  • Choose Standards File Uploads from the choices on the home page
  • Choose A3 or A4 and upload your standard from your Downloads Folder (Do Not Open this document prior to upload)
  • Choose your options for binding etc.
  • You will need to manually input the number of pages in the standard - If you need to check how many pages please do that after you have uploaded the document as it cannot be printed if it is opened before uploading.
