How do I use O'Reilly for Higher Education eBooks?

Answer

The O'Reilly homepage has many features available.

*Please note we only have access to books and videos*

The search bar is where you input your desired topics to find resources.

Selecting the person icon will open a drop down menu.

Profile: Collates all of the browsing and your database usage in an easy area to access.

History: Shows the eBooks and videos that you've clicked on and/or started viewing. It also shows where you've left off in these items and can continue from that point onwards.

Playlists: Can create a collection of eBooks, videos and chapters for easy browsing.

Highlights: Shows the sections you have highlighted in eBooks and also notes you've made.

The sidebar is the easiest way to navigate the website via all the quick access buttons

1. Selecting this will take you to the landing page.

2. You can type in any question and it will take key words from your question and bring you related content for you to browse through.

3. A drop down menu will appear and each button will take you to a new page relevant to the title.

4. Takes you to a preferences page to select various language and email options. You can also connect devices to your account and edit your details in your profile.

5. Opens a new tab to the support centre where you can open FAQ's, learn more on how to navigate the website and contact a support team member.

6. Signs you out of your account on your current browser.

To read an eBook the best way to sift through the chapters is to select this button on the top right hand corner of the page.

It will produce a sidebar that will show each chapter, how far along in the eBook you are, and will give you the option to add the eBook or just the chapters into a playlist.
