Where to find Database Permalinks

Answer

When linking to online resources and content, whether in Blackboard or in Lecture notes, it is imperative that Permalinks are used to ensure that the content is accessible.

Permalinks are different to URLs in that they link to a specific piece of content rather than a website. This means that Permalinks are far less likely to change, reducing the likelihood of broken links and URL not found errors.

That being said, for many databases the URL in the address bar doubles as that resource's permalink. These databases have been listed below:

  • Australian Indigenous Health: Infonet
  • Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook
  • Bloomsbury Fashion Central
  • Bloomsbury Visual Arts
  • Cochrane Library
  • Directory of Open Access Journals
  • Haynes Manuals
  • MIMS Online
  • PlantFile

For the other databases, where the URL is not the address bar, instructions for where to find/access permalink can be found below. Clicking on the database's title will reveal where to find the permalink.

Note: Permalinks for, Learning Ground: Indigenous Education Research Database varies depending on the individual article selected, therefore it is not listed here.
