Using AI to modify third party material.

Lecturers can modify third party materials using AI in your teaching under the the following circumstances. If you;
- Have gained permission in writing from the copyright owner.
- Are changing Creative Commons Material, make sure the licence permits derivatives. (If the licence contains the
symbol and/or ND you cannot modify it.)
- Are modifying material for a student with a disability.
- Are using the material in an exam.
- Use the material in a way that is covered by the Statutory Text or Artistic Licence. (Information about these licenses is found in the FAQs linked to at the bottom of the page.)
On the occasion you use materials that have been modified using AI, label the material as follows:

This version was generated using [insert name of AI tool] and has been copied/made available to you under the education provisions of the Copyright Act. Any further reproduction or communication of this material by you may be subject of copyright protection under the Copyright Act. Do not remove this notice.
Make sure any 3rd party material is available only to the people who need it, i.e. staff and students. Do not make the material accessible to the public.
